My father was admitted for an outpatient procedure. I wanted to let you know that my family was treated so well by the staff (valet). At a time that we were very upset about my Dad's condition, it was very reassuring to have people around that made a difficult time more manageable. We could not have been treated better.

On behalf of the Presbyterian Healthcare Services Security Department, I would like to recognize the Avascend Manager and her staff for consistently providing excellent customer service to our patient's and visitor's who use the Presbyterian valet service.
I continue to receive positive comments from our customer's that have described Avascend Hospitality Service staff as friendly, courteous and caring. "They go out of their way to help people whenever someone has trouble exiting and entering their vehicle." They make coming to the hospital a lot easier by having the valet service.

I observe on a daily basis how accommodating and compassionate the valet employees are ...taking the time to assist the patients' in any way that he can by helping with their wheelchairs, giving them directions, walking them if needed so they do not get lost. And as we know, people who are sick and/or injured are scared and can be unpleasant at times. The care and professionalism that is demonstrated does not change even in those situations.
I travel to other hospitals and offices where valet parking is used and none compare with the service and professionalism demonstrated by the valet staff at this hospital. It is so superior I felt the need to take the time to compliment excellence.

This valet service is the best service St. Ritas in Lima, Oh. could have gotten! ...they come out to the vehicle with a smile and a 'Hi, Welcome to St. Ritas? See you when your are done.' Another thing is they treat my car with utmost respect! The valet went way beyond the call of duty the other day when I had to get my two elderly parents from the parking lot to the ER. He pushed my Mother in the wheelchair, and then he drove my Dad and his walker to the ER,then rushed back with another wheelchair and pushed the wheel chair for me. He made a very stressful situation manageable as i had no idea how to get up to the entrance myself and did not know what i was going to do. ...I hope you know what a great addition to the service you have!

..."the valet parking is fabulous. There is a gentleman that went the extra mile to accomodate me twice in one day in a short period of time. I realize, yes that is his job, but to do this with such a great attitude and his body language sure showed that he is trying to make everything for those that come to St. Mary's better. He (the Valet) was absolutely wonderful to me and my father. Believe me in these days and times it is of the utmost to have a team and crew that is genuine and shows it on every level. They are definitely an asset to your team and I hope you give them recognition, because as you well know first impressions can make or break a business or person."

"I had to be at the Dupont Hospital for some tests for my son. We come there once a week. This particular time I pulled to the door just to drop my son off and then go park. Your Valet person came right out to park the car. I told him it was okay that I was just dropping off my son and he said no worry he would take care of the parking. What an asset to the Hospital these young people are. Very polite and courteous. They would not even take a tip from me. We are able bodied and do not need the service but they were very eager to help. Please relay to your staff that you have a great group out there and they need to be recognized for their job well done."

"The son of a patient who passed away had promised never to leave his mother's side and asked to sit with her body in the morgue until the funeral home came. Larry (The Avascend Manager) very graciously offered to sit with him until a chaplain came, lending a caring ear and sharing his experience as appropriate. Every year the Nurses in the out patient surgery department choose someone from UNMH as a winner for the award. They choose someone who goes out of their way for the staff and the patients. "What a great service! The patient's glasses were knocked off his overbed table and the plastic frames broke. We called his regular eye doctor, who requested we drop them off and they'd see what they could do." The Avascend Concierge made the trip to the eye doctor, and returned the glasses in less than two hours. "The patient got new frames, was able to read the consent for his surgery and fully participate in his care. If we did not have you and you staff, none of this could have happened. Again thank you so much for a great service."

Good deeds rare, appreciated
"...here's a suggestion:Take an hour from your daily schedule and drive to Salem Hospital. When you arrive, use the valet parking entrance. Shortly after you enter the parking garage, a smiling attendant (usually running) will come to your car and ask your name so that later he/she can deliver the car for your departure.
When the car is delivered, the attendant will hold the door for you and wish you a pleasant day before running off to serve another driver. As a local clothier puts it, "I guarantee it."
My comment comes simply because for the past 30 days I have used their services as part of a medically prescribed treatment for healing from an ominous staph infection.
That's probably enough for now, but let's not forget that in this imperfect world there is always reason to be hopeful and, on occasion, serene e.g., when you are fortunate enough to deal with folks like those attendants at Salem Hospital.
These are people who are both competent and caring as they carry out their duties with smiles and grace, and what could be better than that?"

Today I observed a valet attendant not only open the door for an elderly woman but he RAN into the hospital and brought a wheelchair out for her. He then assisted the lady out of her car.... he began to talk to her and began to make her laugh."
